Project Description

Japandi-Boho style space in DBay in north coast , characterized by its serene, earthy atmosphere and heavy reliance on natural textures.
Architectural Features and Materials
The space is defined by rustic wooden ceiling beams that add a sense of history and structural warmth to the white, plaster-finished walls. A standout architectural element is the large arched alcove housing the television, which is accented by integrated cove lighting to create a soft, ethereal glow. The material palette is deeply rooted in nature, featuring light-toned oak wood for cabinetry and furniture, woven rattan for lighting and side tables, and natural stone or terrazzo for the floating media shelf.
Design Elements and Textures
* Color Palette: A soothing monochromatic base of creams, sands, and oatmeal is layered with organic greens from indoor cacti and olive-toned throw pillows.
* Furniture: The living area features a massive, low-profile modular linen sofa that prioritizes comfort and an unpretentious, grounded aesthetic.
* Textural Depth: The design utilizes a variety of tactile surfaces, including shag area rugs with geometric patterns, braided jute poufs, and raw-edge wooden coffee tables.
* Kitchen Integration: The open-plan kitchen continues the theme with reeded glass or mesh cabinet inserts and woven pendant lights that mirror the artisanal feel of the living room.
Design Philosophy
The philosophy of this space is “Warm Minimalism”—a rejection of clinical modernism in favor of a “wabi-sabi” appreciation for natural imperfections and cozy, lived-in luxury. By combining clean organic lines (the arch and smooth walls) with bold, raw materials (reclaimed wood and chunky textiles), the design creates a sanctuary that feels both sophisticated and deeply connected to the natural world.
